On 19th November, local residents, staff, and government representatives gathered as Anindilyakwa Land Council announced the launch of the Community Justice Group, an initiative that will serve as an alternative to prison on Groote Eylandt.

This event was also an opportunity to share other important local decision-making announcements, including plans to develop a manganese mine on Akwamburrkba island, establish an aquaculture venture, and build a boarding school on Bikerton Island.

We also celebrated the launch of our newly designed logo, painted by local artist Alice Durilla.Thank you to everyone who joined us at the event, including Police Commissioner Chalker, Minister Uibo, and Minister Paech.
