Little Paradise Logistics Base
The Little Paradise logistics base is being established to support the activities of mining, aquaculture, tourism and timber milling.
To commence construction of the Little Paradise Logistics Base and to move to next stage funding of Winchelsea Mine, significant fieldwork and engineering reports need to be completed to establish final design specifications for the mining, aquaculture and tourism ventures.
Of critical importance to the commencement of mining on Winchelsea Island, the construction of the Boarding School on Bickerton Island, and the commencement of construction of a logistics base at Little Paradise, it is required to construct extensions to two existing jetties (Winchelsea and Little Paradise and to establish a new jetty/ramp on Bickerton Island). These assets will be owned and managed by Groote Holdings Aboriginal Corporation.
It is proposed to establish a Traditional Owner Marine Services company to provide (at cost) transportation of goods and personnel to service the construction of the Anindilyakwa Boarding School on Bickerton Island, the Winchelsea Mining Operation, trial sites for the Anindilyakwa Aquaculture Project and the establishment of a camp at Dalumba Bay for a clan based tourism business to showcase a high grade rock art site at Dalumba Bay.
To connect people to economic opportunities in an archipelago requires marine infrastructure and transport. This project is to purchase the vessels for a new operation that will manage these vessels in the appropriate manner and are looked after and maintained in a safe and professional manner.
