Work has started on the new BMX track on Groote Eylandt.

The work is expected to be finished by the end of September.

And the upgraded oval lights next to the track in Angurugu are likely to be ready by November.

“Both projects will give a lot of people a lot of enjoyment in the evenings under lights,” says Anindilyakwa Land Council infrastructure head Matt Houston.

The BMX circuit is costing $250,000 and the lights $600,000.
